Author Guidelines

1. Overview

Practical Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PAAIC) welcomes submissions that explore innovative, empirical, or theoretical contributions across the broad landscape of artificial intelligence, computing methodologies, and intelligent systems. We value clarity, transparency, and reproducibility in all forms of research—whether quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method.
The journal follows an open access, continuous submission model, ensuring that accepted manuscripts are published online promptly after acceptance.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx) format using standard U.S. English. All manuscripts must be double-spaced, use 12-point Times New Roman, and include page numbers.
Each submission should include the following elements, in order:

  1. Title Page – Include the manuscript title, full author names, affiliations, ORCID iDs (if available), and contact information for the corresponding author.

  2. Abstract – A concise summary of 150–250 words describing the purpose, methods, key findings, and implications. Avoid citations in the abstract.

  3. Keywords – Provide 4–6 keywords for indexing and search visibility.

  4. Main Text – Organize your manuscript using clear section headings such as Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.

  5. Acknowledgments – Optional; use this section to recognize funding sources or collaborators.

  6. References – Follow the APA 7th edition citation style (see examples below).

Tables and figures should be embedded in the text near their first mention, each with a descriptive title and caption.
Manuscripts typically range between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including tables and figures but excluding references.

3. APA 7th Edition Reference Style

PAAIC uses the American Psychological Association (7th ed.) referencing style.
In-text citations use the author-date format, for example:

(Goodfellow, Bengio, & Courville, 2016) or Goodfellow et al. (2016)

All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.
Below are examples of common reference types:

4. Ethical Standards and Authorship

All submissions must represent original work that has not been published elsewhere or is under review by another journal.
Authors must ensure the accuracy of reported data and provide appropriate credit to all contributors.
Studies involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must include an explicit statement confirming ethical approval and informed consent, where applicable.
Any financial or personal conflicts of interest should be clearly disclosed within the manuscript.

5. Submission Process

All submissions must be made through the Online Journal System (OJS):
https://frpubs.org/index.php/PAAIC/about/submissions

Authors will be required to:

  • Register with the journal prior to submission or log in to an existing account.

  • Upload the manuscript file and any supplementary materials.

  • Confirm compliance with the Copyright Notice and Privacy Statement.

Each submission is first reviewed by the editorial team for scope and formatting, then sent for double-blind peer review by qualified experts. Review decisions are typically communicated within 6–8 weeks.

6. Open Access and Licensing

All articles published in PAAIC are open access and distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).
This allows users to read, download, copy, and share articles freely, provided proper citation is given. Authors retain full copyright of their work.
